Terms & Conditions

Last updated 1 September 2026

These terms govern your use of the Before the Board app and the website at beforetheboard.com (together, the “Service”). By installing or using the Service you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy.

1. Who we are

The Service is provided by Computer Things Ltd, trading as Before the Board, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16488652, with its registered office at Flat 6, 136 Shoreditch High Street, London E1 6JE (“we”, “us”). Contact: mail@beforetheboard.com.

2. What the Service does

The Service shows departure information for Eurostar trains and our prediction of the platform a train will depart from, often before the station announces it. It can also notify you when a platform is predicted, confirmed or changed.

Predictions are estimates based on historical and live data. We work hard to make them accurate, but we do not guarantee them. Platforms change, data can be late or wrong, and notifications can be delayed or not delivered. The station’s departure boards and staff are always the final word, and you remain responsible for checking them and for reaching your train on time.

3. We are independent

Before the Board is an independent service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Eurostar International Ltd, London St Pancras Highspeed, or any station operator or railway company. Their names are used only to describe which services the app covers, and remain the trademarks of their owners. Your journey itself is governed by your carrier’s conditions of carriage, not by these terms.

4. Using the Service

5. Free and paid features

Some features are free. Others (such as platform predictions and alerts) require a purchase:

6. Apple users

If you use the app on an Apple device, the app is licensed, not sold, to you, and Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement applies in addition to these terms. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app and is not responsible for the app, its content or any claims relating to it; you acknowledge that Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

7. Intellectual property and data sources

The app, the website, their design, text, code and the Before the Board name and mark belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy or reuse them without permission.

Timetable and platform data is derived from Eurostar International Ltd’s published data, reused under the Licence Ouverte / Open Licence 2.0 — original data available at transport.data.gouv.fr, updated continuously. Predictions built on that data are our own. Typefaces are Instrument Sans and Instrument Serif, used under the SIL Open Font License.

8. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or withdraw all or part of the Service at any time, including because the data we rely on becomes unavailable. We do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. If we withdraw a paid feature permanently during a period you have paid for, you may be entitled to a refund from the store for the unused part.

9. Liability

The Service is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, and we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including, without limitation, a missed, delayed or cancelled train, a wrong or late platform prediction, an undelivered notification, or any indirect or consequential loss such as lost bookings, connections or accommodation.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Ending the agreement

You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting the app; cancel any subscription through your store account. We may end or suspend your use if you breach these terms. Sections 7, 9 and 12 continue to apply after the agreement ends.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The current version is always published at beforetheboard.com/terms with its date. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app before it takes effect; continuing to use the Service afterwards means you accept the new terms.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction — except that if you live in the EU you also benefit from the mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence and may bring proceedings there. EU consumers can also use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr; we are not obliged to and do not participate in alternative dispute resolution schemes.
